California Casserole

Calling all cheese lovers! This casserole blends two cheeses with rice, onions and chillies.

2 Tbsp margarine or butter

1 lg onion, chopped
4 C cooked rice
2 C sour cream
1 C cottage cheese
1/2 tsp salt
2   4 oz cans chopped green chilies
4 C grated cheese (half Cheddar and Monterey Jack)

Cook onion in margarine until tender. Combine with next 5 ingredients and 3 cups of cheese. Place in dish and bake uncovered at 350° for 20 minutes. Top with remaining cheese and bake another 10 minutes.
