Crock Pot Pinto Beans

Pintos are a staple in making many Latino inspired dishes, such as tacos, burritos, etc. Crock pot cooking gives you more time to do other things!

5 C dried Pinto beans

1/2 c Hickory Smoke (Look in BBQ section of store)
1 1/2 C onion, chopped
1 Tbsp garlic, chopped
1 Tbsp cumin
1 Tbsp seasoning salt

The night before cooking, put the dried beans in a 6 quart crock pot and cover with water. Drain the next morning and add new water 1 to 2 inches over the top of the beans. Add the rest of the ingredients, stir and cook on ow for 10 to 13 hours. At the end of cooking, take a potato masher and mash the beans till the consistency is as juicy as you like it.

Servings: 12 one cup servings
