Apple-Cranberry Crisp

Sweetness and tartness are combined into this great recipe.

1 16-oz can whole cranberry sauce
1 Tbsp cornstarch
5 C peeled, cored, and thinly-sliced Granny Smith apples

Topping:

1 1/2 C old-fashioned oatmeal
1/2 C brown sugar
1/3 C unbleached white flour
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/3 C margarine, melted
1 Tbsp water

In a large saucepan, combine cranberry sauce and cornstarch. Heat and stir occasionally until bubbly. Add apples and cook for 2 more minutes. Spoon apples into 8" square baking dish.

In medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients. Crumble over apples. Bake at 350° F for 30 to 35 minutes, or until bubbly. Serve warm or cold.
