Crusty Tofu Sandwich

A delicious and flavorful deli-style vegan sandwich...

1 block firm tofu

1 Tbsp oil
fresh cilantro
carrots, large grate
daicon radish, large grate
hot chili sauce
soy mayonnaise
1 loaf crusty French baguette
1/4 C water
1/4 C Braggs's Aminos
few drops sesame oil
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
2 green onions, chopped
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Cut tofu block in two and slice 1/2 inch pieces. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick frying pan. Add tofu and fry until golden brown on both sides. while tofu is frying, combine water, Bragg's, sesame oil, sesame seeds, onions, sugar and garlic powder. When tofu is nicely browned, add sauce and fry until liquid is almost absorbed, tum over and fry until liquid is completely absorbed. Remove from heat. Cut baguette into 3-4 pieces and slice almost the whole way through.

To assemble, spread soy mayonnaise on both sides of bread. Add tofu, carrots, radish, cilantro and a thin line of hot chili sauce on top half of bread. Serve immediately.
